INITIAL CONSULTATION - Vision, site visit & scope
Every commission begins with a focused conversation. During the initial consultation, we listen carefully to the parish's needs, review architectural constraints, and begin outlining the liturgical and artistic requirements of the project. Whether remote or on-site, this stage establishes a shared vision, clarifies the scope of the work, and ensures that every decision moving forward is rooted in the spiritual, aesthetic, and practical needs of the community.
DRAFT PROPOSAL - Concept, materials & timeline
Once the vision is established, we prepare a detailed draft proposal outlining the artistic concept, recommended materials, and projected timeline and costs. This includes preliminary sketches, color studies, and material samples where appropriate. The purpose of this stage is to give the parish a clear, transparent understanding of the work ahead. This includes everything from artistic direction to practical logistics, so that decisions can be made with confidence before moving into full design development.
DESIGN PROCESS - Mockups, refinement & finalization
With the draft proposal approved, we begin the design phase in full. At this stage, digital mockups and scaled drawings are created to visualize how the mosaics or icons will appear within the architectural space. Colors, composition, and iconographic details are refined collaboratively, ensuring complete alignment with the parish's traditions and liturgical needs. This stage resolves every artistic and technical question in advance, allowing the fabrication phase to move fowrard with precision and confidence.
CREATE & INSTALL - Putting it all together
Once the designs are finalized, our artists and craftspeople bring the work to life - cutting and setting teserae, painting panels, preparing substrates, and assembling each element by hand. When the artwork is ready, our team handles delivery and installation with the same attention to detail, ensuring a seamless integration into the space. This is where the vision becomes tangible: the moment when sketches, colors and concepts transform into enduring works of beauty and veneration.
